Late Christmas/early birthday present for my friend ! She bought a pair of fleece fox ears at Dragon*Con, and wanted a fleece tail to go with them, for "casual foxy days" As with Kristin's tail, this one is made to wear on a belt for ultimate comfy-ness and ease of casual costuming!
Yes, I am getting back on those late presents again! Go me!
Want a custom fleece tail? I don't know exactly what my limitations or prices are yet, but send me a note or an email and we can work it out.
I wish you could see Kelly in it with the matching ears. She is DARLING.
Now I just need to make myself a white bison hat and tail, and head to Furry Weekend Atlanta. Hat and tail are totally on my "to-create" list, but that's a long, long list these days. Well, if I wind up with enough cash next month, I'll probably go...
I -really-... -REALLY- want myself a Victor Creed (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) 'Creepy Black coat'. But first of all it's murder to find a pattern, second... it's murder to find one of those pre-made.. third... did I mention it's murder to find a pattern OR a pre-made? Also, need to make claws, for both Victor outfit as well as my LARPs. Also, I need to make a tail, preferably moving and articulated in 8 directions.. (Ambitious much?! xD) Also, I need to make myself a fitting piece of nobleman's elvenstyle robes (Did I mention I have to drop about 40-65 pounds to be able to fit in it the way I imagine it? More things for the list!) Also.......... GAHHH, too much 'alsos'!
But that's on my WAY-too-many-things-to-do-list. Cause the name 'To Do List' simply doesn't cut it anymore. Might also call it the 'More outcome then income' list xD
I really hope you can make the hat and tail and find the shinies for it, sweetie! And post a pic of your friend with the ears and tail! I'm curious, and hey, TAILSS!!!!!!!!!
Haha, the "More Outcome than Income" list! I like that! And of course, it's soooo true.
Ah, yes, the endless "greatcoat" problem... I too have searched for a good greatcoat pattern, and found little. I think the best stuff I've come up with are the old WWII greatcoats--which are absolutely terrific, except the patterns are a MESS to decode. If I ever find a good one, I'll be sure to send it your way!
Good luck on that tail! That sounds absolutely crazy, but I want to see it so bad now. When you get working on that project, take WIP pics because I'm so curious as to how you're going to put it together!
Haha, well on the positive side of the scale, after all this crazy craftiness, weight loss is probably the least difficult thing you'll have to do for your outfits! I'm halfway through my own weight loss goal by using a calorie counter site called myfitnesspal. It's been working great for me. I recommend it to everyone these days!
I'm going to see if Kelly will bring her ears and tail to this weekend's get-together, so maybe I can get a picture.
Well, concerning the tail. I think the pictures will look a li'll bit like this: [link]
Oh, about the weightloss: I've been struggling with that for all my life, and lately it's begun to become a pressing matter. I say lately, but mean 7 years. Yes, 7 years of trying. But this time, I'm pretty super motivated.
And Cool, hope to see the pic appear soon! <3 *Snugs*
Haha! I hear you there! I'm sure the figuring the tail out will be quite the experience.
I as well have been struggling with my weight since I first met that "freshman 15" in college. It wasn't like I got exactly fat, but the extra pounds just hung on and refused to GO anywhere! Diets and exercise were either too time consuming, too expensive (dang, how can people afford to eat fresh fruits and veggies AND support crafting habits?) or just too discouraging. This is the first time I've had actual success, and I'm loving it! I wish you all the success and luck possible with your own weight loss! :3
Well, a friend of mine's boyfriend knows quite a bit about sports, movement, weightloss, weightgain (Grrrr. There's people that actually need to GAIN WEIGHT on purpose! How about a trade, folks?! All the donor-fat you want, all-you-can-eat buffet, right here!).
He gave me a pretty simple advice, which I promised to him I'd keep up: - Get up at a certain time instead of whenver-my-eyes-feel-like-opening. - eat breakfast (something I skipped a lot) - Do 5 push-ups a day.
5? YES! 5! But you wouldn't believe how much effort that takes if you have to push up a weight similar to a grown bodybuilder (minus the power those guys have) with a kid on his back. I'm starting to notice a difference allready, after 1 a 2 weeks. Not really in weight, but moreso in strength.... and euhm... I -might- take a little longer then average healthy folks to do those 5. In the time a soldier dropped 'n gave 'm twenty, I might be at "ffffffour.." *Half collapses*. BUT.. it works! Next to his advice... I actually do 30 'diagonal push-ups' too. WHich means, hands against the wall, feet far back and going through the same motion. Due to gravity not effing up your strenght, you can keep up a lot better, with almost all the same muscle-groups being pulled at.
SO. Who needs gyms? *Flips 'm off* BUT.. I do cheat. I grow my own fruits 'n veggies xD And craft with hand-me-downs and whatever I can steal from the garage
ah yes, the all important breakfast! Indeed, I haven't been the best at eating a regular breakfast (although I still adore the plain old cheerios of my childhood) but I'm getting better about it! Along the same vein as the five push ups a day, my sister (who is tiny, thin, and about four inches shorter than me but weighs the same because she's full of muscle) told me to do ten jumping jacks a day. Now, if I just combined them to do five push ups and ten jumping jacks... Hmm, this is a good plan. Certainly a better plan than borrowing the Insanity workout videos of my friend! On the plus side, I also have to walk a little over a mile five days a week at work, while carrying a bag full of mail and packages. It's a nice little workout that I get paid for.
I have never really understood why people get gym memberships. I guess some of the equipment is nice and all, but there are so many workouts you can do in the comfort of your own home--why spend money so that strangers can point and laugh at you? I don't get it.
I am totally jealous of your fruits and veggies! I keep saying that the first house we actually buy needs to have enough land for me to plant a little garden, but since my man has decided to go to law school and become some big shot lawyer, that dream of house-owning is another four years away, at least. *cry* I am far too fond of HGTV shows. It's getting unhealthy. I could watch Color Splash all day, but it makes me angry that we have to rent and I can't do anything too drastic or permanent to the house. Someday, though, I am going to have a house full of COLORS.
